The Holy Spirit in the Life of Jesus

I have read these verses many times in the past, but I don't remember SEEING them.

Luke 1:31-35:

31 "And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus.
32 "He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David;
33 and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end."
34 Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I am a virgin?"
35 The angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be called the Son of God.

1. Notice all three persons of God are mentioned here.

2. Notice the Holy Spirit had a major role to play in the birth of Jesus.

The Holy Spirit and Jesus were as one, just as the Father was as one with Jesus. The three persons work together in complete harmony and unity. I am just now realizing how often we can see this unity throughout Scripture. Remember this as we get to Jesus' baptism (all three are again present), His dealing with temptation (the Holy Spirit plays an important role), His working of miracles (through the power of the Holy Spirit), and His death and resurrection (Rom. 8:11). Just before Jesus ascended, He said, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit" (Matt. 28:19).
