Daily Bible Message

This blog is a daily dose of thoughts from God's word. We read the scriptures to build our faith, hope, and love. This blog is intended to aid us in that quest by allowing us a forum for comments and questions about these daily messages.

Jeremiah 11-12 - God can see my heart

Jeremiah had a rough time. The people who heard his message actually sought to take his life! We see him pouring out his feelings in Jeremiah 11:18-20:

- like a lamb led to slaughter, they had devised plots against him

- "cut him off from the land of the living" (sounds familiar...)

But in verse 20, see how Jeremiah reaches out to God, "who judges righteously, who tries the feelings and the heart." He recognized God can see right to the core of a person - He can see my intents, my feelings, my desires, my heart. Jesus could see those same things in the people among whom He walked. Again in Jeremiah 12:3, Jeremiah says, "You know me, O LORD; You see me; And You examine my heart's attitude toward You." Does that strike fear in your hear, or does it comfort you? In Jeremiah's case, he found comfort knowing God could see his pure motives and attitudes. In many people's cases, they should quake in fear because God can see the blackness and evil intents of their hearts.

Let's walk in the light!
